TT Distinctive

The Tequila Trail has devised the TT Distinctive (Tequila Resort) which is given to companies that comply with the Guide to Good Practices of the Tequila Trail.

The Guide to Good Practice as used in the Tequila Trail incorporates a wide variety of criteria that are considered essential in building a tourist destination which is both sustainable and of excellent quality.

The information in the Guide to obtain T Distinction devised by the Regulatory Tequila Council has been adequate in addressing elements such as promoting cultural and social concerns, environmental conservation, business development and tourism management.

The Guide’s purpose is to support the tourist trade within Micro, Small and Medium companies of the Tequila Trail and to increase their competitiveness and the quality of their products and services. The implementation of good tourism practice in the Tequila Trail strives to accomplish the following objectives:


1. Promote the culture of the region within the tourist based establishments of the Tequila Trail.

2. Integrate the less secure social sectors of the tourist industry.

3. Ensure that the sale and consumption of Tequila is certified by the Regulatory Tequila Council in tourist sites.

4. Promote the protection of natural resources within the tourist based establishments of the Tequila Trail.

5. Provide professional training and guidance for those employed by the tourist based establishments of the Tequila Trail.

6. Raise the quality of service and facilities of the tourist based establishments within the Tequila Trail.

7. Ensure that the employees within the tourist based establishments of the Tequila Trail greet visitors politely and courteously.

Prerequisites

The prerequisites to obtain TT Distinctive are the following:

1. Be legally constituted.
2. Have a valid Municipal License.
3. Comply with each subsector’s guidelines.
4. The business or company must be located within the region.
5. Companies with foreign partners must have been established for at least one year and businesses employing people in the region must check that all new employees have been living in the area for at least one year.

The guidelines to Good Practices are:

1. Be prepared and approved according to the law.
2. Have a valid municipal license.
3. Comply with the guidelines of each subsector.
4. The business or company must be located within the region.
5. Companies with business associates from outside the region must have been established for at least one year, and new business owners must show proof that they have been living in the area for at least one year.
